Student Visa
The Student Direct Stream (SDS) is a streamlined process designed to expedite the study permit application for international students who meet specific criteria. It’s important to note that a study permit is distinct from a visa and does not grant entry into Canada on its own. The SDS aims to facilitate a quicker study permit issuance, subject to meeting the eligibility requirements.
Eligibility requirements are:
- Be a legal resident in a country that is eligible for the SDS.
- Hold an acceptance letter from a post-secondary Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada.
- Reside outside of Canada when applying for the study permit.
- Provide proof of payment for your first year’s tuition.
- Possess a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $10,000 CAN.
- Obtain an attestation of issuance of your Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) from the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration if you plan to study in Quebec.
- Undergo a medical examination prior to applying, if required.
- Obtain a police clearance certificate if necessary.
- Submit your most recent secondary or post-secondary school transcripts.
- Achieve the minimum score required for one of the qualifying language tests.
Pay the processing fee of $150 CAD.

Non - SDS (Student Direct Stream)
The Non-SDS (Student Direct Stream) Visa serves as a pathway for individuals worldwide who aspire to engage in temporary residence, work opportunities, and academic pursuits within Canada. This category becomes particularly relevant for students who, having initially pursued the SDS route, find the Non-SDS option more accommodating due to the provision of enhanced supportive documentation. The Non-SDS Visa caters to a broad international audience seeking to enter Canada for various purposes, including study, work, and temporary residence. It offers an alternative avenue, especially for students who may have missed the SDS opportunity or require a different set of documents to reinforce their application.
Eligibility requirements are:
- Assemble a comprehensive set of supportive documents like educational transcripts, work experience records, financial statements, and other relevant credentials.
- You must have an acceptance letter from a recognized Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada.
- You need to demonstrate that you have enough money to cover your tuition fees, living expenses, return transportation, and other costs during your stay in Canada.
- You must provide a police certificate or clearance, if required.
- You must prove that you intend to leave Canada once your studies are completed.
- Depending on your country of origin and the length of your intended stay, you may need to undergo a medical examination to ensure you meet Canada’s health requirements.
Pay the prescribed application fee, which is akin to the SDS visa application fee. Additionally, an $85 CAD biometric fee is required.

Visitor Visa
A visitor visa, often referred to as a temporary resident visa, is an essential official document that validates your eligibility to enter Canada. This visa, affixed to your passport, signifies your compliance with entry requirements and serves as your authorization for temporary stay. Designed to facilitate lawful entry, a visitor visa is pivotal for various travel purposes, including transit through Canadian airports an route to your ultimate destination. Here is an elucidation of the visitor visa’s characteristics, eligibility prerequisites, and procedural aspects.
Eligibility requirements are:
- A valid travel document, such as a passport, is a fundamental
- Be in good health and provide any required medical examination reports.
- Have no criminal or immigration-related convictions.
- Show evidence of sufficient funds to cover your stay. The required amount depends on the duration of your visit and your chosen accommodation (hotel, friends, relatives, etc.).
- You may also need a medical exam and letter of invitation from someone who lives in Canada.
Pay the stipulated processing fee of $100 CAD ensuring adherence to instructions.

Super Visa
A Super Visa is a special type of visa that allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to visit their children or grandchildren in Canada for an extended period. With a Super Visa, you can stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time, and the visa provides multiple entries over a period of up to 10 years. To qualify for a Super Visa, certain specific criteria must be met, including the requirement for medical insurance.
Eligibility requirements are:
- You must be the parent or grandparent of either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
- You need to have a signed invitation letter from your child or grandchild who resides in Canada. The letter should include:
- A promise of financial support for the duration of your visit.
- A list and count of individuals in the household of the inviting person.
- A copy of the inviting person’s Canadian citizenship or permanent resident document.
- The insurance can be from a Canadian insurance company or an approved insurance company outside Canada.
- Medical insurance must be:
- Be fully paid for or paid in instalments with a deposit (quotes are not accepted).
- Be valid for a minimum of 1 year from your intended date of entry to Canada. Cover health care, hospitalization, and repatriation.
- Provide at least $100,000 in emergency coverage.
- The private health insurance must be valid for each entry to Canada.
The processing fee for a Super Visa application is $100 CAD.

Work Permit
An open work permit lets you work for any employer in Canada, except for one that is listed as ineligible on the list of employers who have failed to comply with the conditions, or regularly offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services or erotic massages. You can only get an open work permit in specific situations.
Some jobs require a medical exam. If you don’t want medical conditions on your open work permit, you can get a medical exam from a panel physician.
Eligibility requirements are:
- You must provide satisfactory evidence to an officer that you intend to leave Canada upon the expiration of your work permit.
- You must demonstrate that you possess sufficient funds to support yourself and any accompanying family members during your stay in Canada and for your return journey.
- You should not pose any threat to the security of Canada.
- You must provide any additional documents requested by the designated officer to substantiate your admissibility into the country.
- You must have a clean criminal record and be free from any history of criminal activity. You may be asked to furnish a police clearance certificate.
- You should be in good health and have a medical exam, if needed.
Pay the processing fee of $155 CAD, which covers the evaluation and processing of your application.

Extensions
Extension for study permit:
The expiry date on your study permit tells you when you have to stop studying and leave Canada.
If you want to keep studying, you need to extend your study permit and restore your status as a temporary resident.
Eligibility requirements are:
- Apply for a study permit extension at least 30 days before your study permit expires, if you want to keep studying in Canada.
- Make sure your passport doesn’t expire at the same time.
- If you apply before your permit expires, you can continue to study under the same conditions as your current study permit until we make a decision. This only applies as long as you stay in Canada.
Processing Fees Study permit (including extensions): $150 CAD.
